Sohail Khan told Hindustan Times, “Yes, I plan to make Sher Khan in 3D. But we will lock the decision only after getting the final draft of our script.”
Sher Khan, set to shoot primarily in Bangkok, the director had planned on using real tigers in the film until the animal rights group PETA expressed their concerns. Sohail Khan has admitted that the scenes with Salman Khan and the tigers together will be shot using computer graphics.
Sohail Khan is working on getting more comfortable with advanced technology such as this. “Since the technique is new for us, I am updating and educating myself on it. Now, everything is at the theoretical stage.”
Salman Khan is also reportedly excited about the technology, which he feels will work wonders for the action adventure. He is believed to have met a few foreign technicians and shown interest in learning the intricacies of a 3D project. Once the actor finishes Bodyguard, he and Sohail will work out the details.
Sher Khan, which was supposed to go on floors later this year, has now been pushed back to a 2012 release date. “Bhai is busy with Bodyguard right now. Then, he will focus on Yash Raj’s Ek Tha Tiger before coming to my film. And come to think of it, he can focus only one film at a time. There’s no hurry.”
